Chapter - "Battered But Not Broken"
LaShonda Oates Milsap is the daughter of Freeman and Ella Oates of Fayetteville, NC. LaShonda is a woman who has a heart for helping and motivating others. She is a mother, daughter, sister and social worker and she finds each role to be greatly rewarding in their own unique way. LaShonda is an innovative thinker and uses her experiences to advocate and motivate others. Her aspiration is to utilize her gifts/talents to touch others’ lives and reach their potential to bless the lives of others.
In addition, LaShonda holds a bachelor’s degree from Fayetteville State University and Master’s degree in Social Work from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. Her hobbies include: hiking, traveling, learning about different cultures, and attending sporting events. She regularly attends John Wesley United Methodist and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She has four sons: Cameran, Mitchell, Derrick, and Steven.
LaShonda has co-authored two books, God is Able, Our Journey and Be A Voice. She is the host of her own online radio show, Inspire & Uplift Radio Show with LaShonda Oates Milsap and its purpose is to inspire others to pursue their goals, dreams, and aspirations by having featured guests to share their testimonies of how they succeeded.
